This is too cool!! Over 25 teams have signed up for a competition which is for cars which will achieve over 100mpg US. These teams have to show that they have a viable business plan, the ability to produce the cars cheaply (under 35K) and that the thing performs decently. I love it! If you enjoyed high school physics, are an engineer, or you were that kid who loved to take things apart - then this will interest you! More here.

PS, this particular car -> was getting 103mpg in 1986, plus it looks awesome!!
